The total inbound arrival to the Sultanate reaches 1.9 million
In India recently, Asma Al Hajry, Deputy DG of Tourism Promotions, Ministry of Heritage and Tourism, Sultanate of Oman, had expressed confidence that Oman will breach half-a-million mark in Indian visitor arrivals this year. And if the latest Indian visitor arrival figure is anything to go by, Oman looks poised to welcome well over 500,000 Indian travellers before the year ends.
According to the latest figure shared by Oman Tourism India Office, more than 315,000 Indian travellers have already visited the Sultanate in the first six months. This is over 63 per cent of half-a-million mark that Oman has already delivered in the first six month.
Oman received 234,000 Indian travellers in the first-five months (Jan-May 2023), adding around 81,000 Indian travellers in June alone. The Sultanate received 352,000 Indian visitors in 2022.
At the same time, India also figured as the second largest source markets. According to press communication from Oman Tourism’s India office, the Indian tourists were the second highest travellers to visit Oman in the first six months. The Sultanate welcomed 698,000 travellers from GCC countries, followed by India (315,000 travellers), Germany (91,000 travellers), China (66,000 travellers) and Yemen (52,000 travellers). The total number of travellers arriving in the Sultanate numbered 1.9 million in the first half of 2023.
