SriLankan Airlines has added Kunming to its flight route from Colombo, adding a fifth Chinese destination to its global route map commencing this month.
Kapila Chandrasena, Chief Executive Officer, SriLankan Airlines said, “SriLankan Airlines has always viewed the Far East as one of its priority markets where a gradual increase in the number of tourist arrivals has driven the airline to look into more expansion opportunities to cater to the growing demand as well as to motivate more travellers from both regions to explore the beauty of the two destinations. The first all new A330-300 aircraft which was added to our fleet recently as part of our wide-body fleet renewal programme, will be assigned primarily on the Far Eastern Routes such as Bangkok, Tokyo, Canton and Beijing.”
Signifying its strong presence in the Indian Sub-Continent, SriLankan currently operates triple daily flights from Chennai, twice daily flights from Tiruchirappalli and Cochin, eleven weekly flights from Bengaluru and daily flights from Trivandrum, Mumbai and Delhi, to Colombo – providing easy connectivity and convenience of three weekly flights to Kunming, departing Colombo on Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 1835 hrs, and arriving in Kunming at 0150 hrs.
