The German National Tourist Office (GNTO) recently concluded its roadshow in New Delhi and witnessed great enthusiasm from the travel trade. There were over 10 German partners present at the year-end roadshow who were thrilled to see exhilarating response from the Indian travel trade industry.
The roadshow helped German partners to understand Indian market in a better perspective, hence further aiding in developing a positive image for Germany as a great tourist destination. The trade partners from New Delhi walked away with more information on the destination especially with regards to the partners present.
Romit Theophilus, Director Sales & Marketing, said “GNTO, India is grateful to the partners for providing their constant support throughout the year. This year a few new partners have come on board and GNTO look forward to having a long association with them in future. Germany has retained its position of being a popular European destination among Indians. Germany has witnessed 435,052 overnights from India for the period of January-August, 2014. It is savoring to know that the travel trade in New Delhi understands and support Germany as a preferable leisure destination”.
According to him, leisure and business travel shares stood at 42 and 58 per cent respectively during January-August 2014 compared with last year’s 30 and 70 per cent respectively.
German National Tourist Board also successfully launched the microsite on smart luxury for the travel trade which would facilitate the fraternity to get familiarize with unique style of exclusivity in terms of style, flawless service and infinite options for a pampered luxury holiday in Germany.
The partners who had participated in the roadshow were representatives from: Maritim Hotel, Baden Baden, Saxony, Lufthansa, Stuttgart, Bavaria, Air Berlin, KD Rhine, Deutsche Bahn, Euro Tours.
