India aims to strengthen its position as a country that offers a quality tourism experience globally and thereby increase the number of tourists visiting India.
The Ministry of Tourism, Government of India is participating in the World Tourism Market (WTM) to be held at Excel London from November 5 to 7, 2024.
Tourists from the UK are the second largest foreign tourists coming to India. There are 1.9 million people of Indian origin in the UK.
The Tourism Ministry has sent a 50-member team for this tourism market, which includes representatives of state governments, tourism institutions, airlines, hotel owners and is tasked with presenting India’s cultural diversity, many forms of tourism and experiences on this global platform.

The India Pavilion at WTM 2024 will showcase India’s rich and diverse cultural traditions and linguistic diversity, presenting information on tourism that offers diverse experiences such as spiritual and health tourism, wedding or adventure tourism, environment and food tourism, etc.
This year, the main focus of The India Pavilion will be on wedding tourism, MICE tourism and Mahakumbh Mela. A pavilion has also been set up in the India Pavilion to show glimpses of Indian weddings.
Apart from the Ministry of Tourism, Government of India, several state tourism departments, tourism management agencies, airlines, public sector companies will also participate in the India Pavilion in this WTM 2024.
