MOT IDENTIFIES AREAS OF CONVERGENCE FOR TOURISM AND CULTURE

The Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Culture and Tourism Shripad Yesso Naik has said that Ministry of Tourism and Culture has identified certain areas of convergence under joint action plan for both the Ministries.

In a written reply in the Rajya Sabha Naik revealed that the major areas of convergence as identified by both the Ministries include: Joint publicity wherever festivals of india/food festivals/roadshows are organised; Tourism projects related to heritage sites; Clean India Campaign at ASI monuments; Joint promotion of Incredible India; Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Ministry of Tourism and Ministry of Culture and State Governments for improvement of visitor amenities at monuments and heritage sites; Development of Tourist Circuits; and joint action plan for tourist guide training.
