GVK Mumbai International Airport Pvt Ltd (MIAL) recently organised a foundation stone laying ceremony of the new Export Heavy and Bonded Cargo Facility at the Chhatrapathi Shivaji International Airport (CSIA). The chief guest B.S. Vasudev, Chief Commissioner of Customs laid the foundation stone at the ceremony.
Customers will be benefited from reduced dwell times with the commissioning of this new facility. The new Export and Bonded Cargo facility is one of the many endeavors undertaken by GVK MIAL to keep pace with the rapid growth of air cargo export business at CSIA, Mumbai.
The new Export Heavy and Bonded Cargo facility is spread across an area of 4,300 square meters and comprises of 11 truck docks, seven dock levelers, six X-Ray machines, round-the-clock close circuit televisions (CCTV) and security monitoring. Additionally, the facility is also equipped with dedicated material handling equipment and offers exclusive acceptance docks and screening machines for bonded cargo operations.
