The result of recently concluded Indian Association of Tour Operators’ (IATO) election clearly indicates that a major section of the industry continued to support the work done by the existing team under the leadership of President Subhash Goyal. Although the election was closely contested, most of the office bearers of the outgoing Management Committee of IATO retained their position for another three-year term.
While Goyal was elected unopposed, Sarabjit Singh and Rajeev Kohli were re-elected for the post of Senior Vice President and Vice President respectively. Singh defeated Rajesh Mudgil by a margin of 47 votes, while Kohli won by a margin of 56 votes against Arun Anand. Pranab Sarkar, who was fighting for the Hony. Secretary defeated Lally Mathews by 5 votes. Amarish Tiwari is the new Treasurer and Ravi Gosain is the new Joint Secretary.
Apart from the core office bearers, the Executive Committee was also elected. The newly elected Executive Committee members are Raj Bajaj, Rajiv Mehra, Ramesh Wattal, Rajnish Kaistha and Sanjiv Joshi.
