AIR INDIA PARTNERS WITH HAVEUS AEROTECH

National carrier Air India will lend its engineering expertise to city-based aircraft services firm Haveus Aerotech India for setting up an advanced engine MRO facility at Dubai’s Al Maktoum International Airport. Haveus Aerotech India has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Air India’s subsidiary AIESL (Air India Engineering Services Limited) in this regard, according to a statement.

AIESL will provide technical know-how besides its qualified and experienced manpower including engineers in setting up and operating the Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO) facility, that is to be built at an investment of USD 100 million.

“This pact will help AIESL to gain inroads into the world aviation market. The MoU will be beneficial for the two companies witnessing the massive expansion in aviation field. AIESL has vast aviation and engine experience which we will deploy to provide Haveus Aerotech India with all necessary support in terms of provision of skilled manpower and quality certification related to the facility,” AIESL, Chief Executive Officer, H R Jagganthan said.

The proposed facility plans to cater MRO services to the Gulf region, the statement said, adding Haveus Aerotech is the first Indian company to be awarded the contract to build and operate the first and most advanced engine MRO facility in whole of region.

Under the MoU, the AIESL will also provide the required support to Haveus Aerotech India in procuring 145 certifications/ regulatory approvals required for setting up the MRO facility, among others, it said.

Anshul Bhargava, Managing Director, Haveus Aerotech India said, “The MRO facility will come up at an investment of over USD 100 million in a land spread over 9,000 square meter area and cater to the burgeoning demand of aircraft engine overhaul of CFM56-7B and 5B fitted on B737 and Airbus A320 family aircraft in the Gulf, Far East, Asian and the adjoining regions.”
