Gujarat Chief Minister Anandiben Patel inaugurated Vibrant Navratri – 2015 in presence of thousands of Garba-lovers in GMDC Ground of Ahmedabad, recently. The inauguration saw the presence of Italian Envoy in India Enzoangeloni, Mission In-charge of Arab League Mazin Al Masudi, Third Secretary of Sri Lanka Vireshika Bandaraa and Counsel General Saroja Sirisrenaa graced the occasion.
The Chief Minister said that along with the spirit of worship, the longest dance festival of the world celebrated in Gujarat has become the festival of adventurous sports and financial power through regional handicraft workmen’s employment.
She welcomed foreign and Indian tourists to enjoy the occasion and witness the progress story of Gujarat. She spoke of heritage centres of the state and encouraged promotion of tourism in pilgrimage places, as per the recently announced tourism policy.
On the occasion, Tourism Minister, Saurabhbhai Patel said that Gujarat is the distinctive identity of our centuries-old tradition. The then Chief Minister of Gujarat and our Prime Minister Narendra Modi has made special efforts for the identity of Gujarat to develop on a global platform and the Chief Minister Anandiben Patel made those efforts more dynamic. Gujaratis are world tourists and they are introducing the art and culture of Gujarat worldwide, he added.
On the occasion, Ministers Saurabhbhai Patel, Mangubhai Patel, Babubhai Bokhiriya, Nanubhai Vanani, Pradeepsinh Jadeja, Vasuben Trivedi, Govindbhai Patel, Jayeshbhai Radadiya, Ahmedabad Mayor Meenaxiben Patel, Chairman of Gujarat Tourism Corporation Kamlesh Patel, Chief Secretary G. R. Aloriya, President of Gujarat Navratri Festival Society, Parimal Nathwani and Garba-lovers in huge numbers were present and enjoyed the various performances of Navratri festival.
