Offering a fillip to its tourism sector, the Udupi district administration has joined hands with one of India’s premier scuba diving companies, West Coast Adventures thus introducing to the Karnataka Coast a scuba diving facility at Kaup (Kapu) beach. They will offer differentiated experiences to adventure sports enthusiasts and people who are seeking a unique experience.
Pawan Shourie, CEO and Founder, West Coast Adventures said, “We are thrilled to be part of this initiative by the Karnataka Government of offering an exciting and safe option to their tourists who seek a scuba diving experience in India that is at par with global standards. People will be ferried to the dive site about 30 minutes away. We will offer some of the best under-water experiences that will be led by a group of skilled and passionate instructors at an initial offer price of Rs. 3500. We will ensure that this will be a memorable experience for every person who comes for scuba diving with us.”
Under the guidance of Deputy Commissioner Priyanka Mary Francis, scuba diving in Udupi district is slated to become one of the key tourist’s attractions and with the Kaup (Kapu) scuba diving facility launched her vision is well on the path of becoming a reality. Scuba diving as an adventure activity was unveiled by Vinaya Kumar Sorake MLA Kapu.
Anita B R, Assistant Director for Tourism, Udupi district said, “With our coastal belt offering the best of marine life for exploration we see a growing requirement from tourists who visit our beaches for water-based adventure sports like scuba diving. We have given this contract to West Coast Adventures which adheres to regulations on safety and has good instructors. Karnataka is poised to become the hub of water-based adventure sports and with this association, we are solidifying this position. We welcome everyone to come and experience scuba diving at Kaup (Kapu).”
