AirAsia India’s maiden flight took off from Bengaluru to Goa yesterday. This take-off marks the launch of the airline’s domestic operations with daily from Bengaluru to Goa and vice versa, effective today.
The inaugural flight, I5 1320, landed at Goa with 100 per cent flight load. The first flight guests were greeted by Mittu Chandilya, CEO, AirAsia India on-board and were welcomed by the AirAsia India family upon arrival at the Dabolim airport, Goa.
Commenting on the inaugural flight, Mittu Chandilya, CEO, AirAsia India, said, “We are very proud that after a year’s persistence we have finally commenced our operations. This is a big day for all of us at AirAsia India and I would like to express my heartfelt thanks to my team and to everyone who supported us from the onset. We have looked at various sectors, and Bengaluru, Goa and Chennai are the most lucrative options keeping in mind our low-cost business model and the traffic for the season.
