American Airlines launches new daily nonstop service to Seoul

American Airlines launched daily nonstop service from Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport to Incheon International Airport in Seoul, marking the airline’s first flight ever into South Korea. American will serve the route originating from DFW’s International Terminal D utilizing Boeing 777-200 aircraft with three classes of service.

“The new daily service to Seoul aboard American Airlines represents more outstanding news for travelers in Dallas/Fort Worth and for DFW Airport,” said Jeff Fegan, CEO of DFW Airport. He further added, “At DFW, it is our mission to deliver a world class travel experience for visitors to Dallas/Fort Worth as well as to expand our region’s presence and visibility around the globe, and this new service from our great partners at American will help bring more business and leisure travelers and economic opportunities.”

“South Korea’s continued growth as a key business market has created increased demand for direct travel to and from the region,” said Chuck Schubert, American’s Vice President – Network Planning. “This new route enhances our expanding global network and further establishes American’s position as the preferred carrier for one-stop connections between Asia and major business and leisure destinations in North, Central and South America.”

The new flight creates more capacity between two of the world’s most highly regarded international airports.  Incheon International Airport in Seoul regularly ranks atop surveys by Airports Council International for customer service, and DFW has consistently ranked as North America’s highest rated large airports over the past seven years in the same surveys.

The new service to Seoul continues DFW’s plans in adding new international service.  Since December of 2010, DFW Airport has seen the addition of 13 new international destinations and seven new air carriers, the most prolific period of air service expansion in the Airport’s history.
