Atout France (France Tourism Development Agency) has recently concluded its annual roadshows in Delhi and Mumbai, followed by its third set of training sessions for travel agents in Kolkata, Bengaluru, Chennai and Ahmedabad. The sessions were designed to give agents first hand knowledge about France as a destination, and a further insight into promoting the destinations of Rhone Alpes and Chamonix to sell to the Indian market. The tourism board is now on the lookout for Indian trade partners for their upcoming promotional campaign, ‘Be There! Do That!’
According to Catherine Oden, Director, France Tourism Development Agency, the campaign is set to be released in 2013, and will promote the different facets of France to the Indian travellers, such as its smaller villages and cities, the French culture and their lifestyle. The details of the campaign, she added, will not be divulged till the partners and sponsors have been finalised.
In addition, the tourism board is promoting the destination to the honeymoon segment, offering suggestions to the travel trade in India in designing honeymoon packages. “We recently planned a 21-day honeymoon for one of our employees in the India office which was covered by Verve magazine. We have offered the itinerary to the Indian travel trade as well, and are willing to help them alter it to design packages based on customer requirements,” said Oden.
