Banyan Tree Group partnered with Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) to host an exclusive event for a select group of wedding planners and event managers in New Delhi. Highlighting the key aspects of Indian wedding facilities available in Thailand, Runjuan Tongrut, Director, TAT (North & East India, Bangladesh Bhutan and Nepal) said, “Thailand received over one million tourists from India in 2012 and we foresee a great potential in the Indian destination wedding market which itself is growing at a remarkable pace. Thailand’s deep rooted culture of hospitality; variety of themed weddings and special interest groups ensure that in the years to come, it will become a favourite with Indian wedding groups.”
An exclusive Weddings & Celebrations brochure produced by TAT was distributed to the participants along with special Thai souvenirs. The trip enabled wedding planners and event managers to gather an in-depth and comprehensive understanding of Banyan Tree Hotels & Resorts and Angsana Hotels & Resorts in Thailand. The programme was attended by wedding planners, event managers and representatives from the media and concluded with excitement and fresh ideas to further the growth of Thailand as a destination and to promote four of the Group’s resorts.
Showcasing the four luxurious and popular resorts of the group – Angsana Laguna Phuket, Banyan Tree Phuket, Banyan Tree Samui and Banyan Tree Bangkok, Manas Sinha, Assistant Director, Key Accounts, Banyan Tree Hotel Resorts and Angsana Hotels and Resorts said, “With the most extensive range of themed wedding options available under one umbrella, the Banyan Tree and Angsana branded resorts in Thailand offer superb accommodation, activities, banquet hall and event facilities. In 2012, each of our four properties in Thailand successfully hosted several lavish Indian weddings.”
