In 2022, the esteemed Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin flagged off Cordelia Cruises’ maiden sailing from Chennai, marking the beginning of an incredible journey from Chennai’s shores. This historic event not only celebrated the spirit of adventure but also showcased Chennai’s emergence as a prominent hub for cruise tourism in India.
For the 2023 season, Union Minister for Port, Shipping, and Waterways, Sarbananda Sonowal, further underscored the significance of Chennai’s port by flagging off India’s first international sailing to Sri Lanka from this vibrant coastal city.
