IndiGo flight 6E2211 operating from Delhi to Varanasi had received a specific bomb threat at Delhi airport. Passengers aboard a Delhi to Varanasi IndiGo flight were safely evacuated at the Airport on Tuesday morning, as per the national carrier.
Following the incident, the airline has issued an official statement mentioning that all necessary protocols were followed, and aircraft was taken to a remote bay as per guidelines by airport security agencies. “All passengers were safely evacuated via the emergency exits,” it stated.
Although a note indicating “[email protected]” was found in the lavatory, subsequent police inspections found no suspicious items, as per the sources. The Delhi fire service promptly dispatched its quick response team (QRT) upon learning of the threat, and airport authorities reassured the public of passenger safety.
The airline said the flight is currently undergoing inspection. Post completion of all security checks, the aircraft will be positioned back in the terminal area.
