Enterprising Travel Agents Association (ETAA) recently held its 2nd mega event on 28th January, 2016 at The Metropolitan Hotel, New Delhi to coincide with SATTE. The event saw the presence of more than 150 ETAA members from across India. The event was sponsored by Jordan Tourism and co-sponsored by Zest India Tours, Air Arabia, Sterling Holiday Resorts and SATTE.
Hassan Al Jawarneh, the Ambassador of Jordan graced the occasion with his presence as the Chief Guest and was accompanied by his spouse and Ashit Taneja, Country Manager – Jordan Tourism. Jagat Mehta, President for ETAA welcomed the guests along with Abhijit Khadilkar, General Secretary; Dipti Thakoor, Joint Secretary; Dharmesh Advani, Treasurer; Shripad Deshpande, Director – National Board and Chairman – Western India Region and Pankaj Nagpal, Director – National Board and Chairman – Northern India Region.
In his address, Jawarneh announced the close ties shared between India and Jordan, the recent visit by Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and elaborated on the initiatives taken by both governments to enhance cooperation and tourism between the two countries.
Nagpal congratulated all members and ETAA for completion of 3 years of North India Chapter. He also informed that the Chapter has grown from 15 members in January 2013 to close to 200 members and is still growing strong. Interestingly, the ETAA mega event will now be an annual feature as the association has seen its success in last two years by providing a strong networking platform for their members as it coincides with SATTE.
Mehta thanked all the sponsors for their support and the members present and all the committee members for putting up a great show. The intention to host this event was for members from different region to meet each other on a common platform apart from creating networking opportunity. ETAA President also thanked Hassan Al Jawarneh for his presence.
Taneja gave a brief presentation on Jordan as a destination that was followed up by Q&A session. Ajay Kumar, National Head – Sales, Sterling Holiday Resorts highlighted the newly refurbished properties of Sterling across India through a presentation. The Raffle Draw for 2 Fully Hosted Premium SATTE Buyers for 2017 was given away by Ashish Sehgal, Head – Membership Committee and Gurjit Singh Ahuja and P P Khanna, Head – Domestic Tourism Committee of Northern Region. The Raffle Draw for 2 couple tickets on Air Arabia was given away by Sachin Nene, Air Arabia and Jagat Mehta.
