Foreign Exchange Earnings (FEEs) from tourism in Rupee terms in June, 2013 rose by Rs. 551 crores in comparison to June, 2012. FEEs during the month of June 2013 were Rs 7,036 crores as compared to Rs 6,485 crores in June 2012 and Rs 5,440 crores in June 2011. The growth rate in FEEs in rupee terms in June 2013 over June 2012 was 8.5 per cent as compared to 19.2 per cent in June 2012 over June 2011. FEEs from tourism in rupee terms during January to June 2013 were Rs 50,448 crores with a growth of 15.3 per cent, as compared to the FEE of Rs 43,760 crores with a growth of 24.4 per cent during January to June 2012 over the corresponding period of 2011.
FEEs in US$ terms during the month of June 2013 were US$1.208 billion as compared to FEEs of US$1.158 billion during the month of June 2012 and US$1.213 billion in June 2011. The growth rate in FEEs in US$ terms in June 2013 over June 2012 was 4.3 per cent as compared to the negative growth of 4.5 per cent in June 2012 over June 2011. FEE from tourism in terms of US$ during January to June 2013 were US$9.201 billion with a growth of 8.8 per cent, as compared to US$8.455 billion with a growth of 8.2 per cent during January-June 2012 over the corresponding period of 2011.
In addition, Foreign Tourist Arrivals (FTAs) in June, 2013 was 4.44 lakhs which was 4.33 lakhs in June, 2012 with a growth of 2.5 per cent.
