In an attempt to project Kerala as an adventure tourism destination, Glenn Tours, in association with Ernakulam District Tourism Promotion Council (DTPC), is all set to organize a Monsoon Mountain Bike Rally. The rally, to be flagged off from DH Grounds, Kochi on September 26, will cover various unexplored paths from Kochi to Vagamon.
The rally is being conducted as part of ‘Visit Kerala’ Campaign to promote adventure tourism in the state by exploring the unexplored destinations, said Suhas. S. IAS, Secretary, DTPC, the driving force behind the Rally. “This will be a great experience to the brave hearts of Kochi and nearby places as they will be riding through the unexplored paths ever,” he said.
“The rally covering off-roads through the hilly misty mountain roads will pass through Cochin-Muvatupuzha-Thodupuzha- Kanjar- will end at Vagamon. Lunch will be served on the way. Night halt has been arranged at Orion Resorts at Vagamon, a night of camping, camaraderie, sumptuous dinner and concert. After breakfast the next day the rally makes a u-turn after Vagamon sightseeing and then back to Kochi,” Jorphey Gabriel of Glenn Tours, the Tour and Route organisors, said.
A total of 100 bikers with a pillion rider each will be accommodated in the rally. Entry will be on first come first serve basis. The tickets for this glitzy event will be on sale from 26th of August 2015 onwards for Rs.2000/- per person.
