Go First announces the cancellation of it flights until May 9, 2023, referring to operational reasons. The Wadia group-led airline has voluntarily filed for bankruptcy at the Delhi branch of the National Company Law Tribunal.
According to the official statement published on the website, “We regret to inform that due to operational reasons, Go First flights scheduled till 9th May 2023 have been cancelled. We apologize for the inconvenience caused by the flight cancelation.” It was further mentioned in the statement that a full refund will be issued to the passengers’ original mode of payment.
Reports suggest that Go First has argued in court for a temporary suspension for protection against repossession by lessors, along with de-freezing of bank accounts. As per reports, Go First is said to inform the DGCA that it would not process further bookings till May 15 and was working to issue refunds to passengers or reschedule flights beyond May 15. DGCA has ordered the airline to process refunds under DGCA’s regulations as per the dictated timelines. The flight operations may stay suspended till May 15.
