The Iconic, Authentic, and Timeless creation of the IHCL – The Taj Mahal Palace Mumbai celebrates its 120th anniversary, which also commemorates the 120th anniversary of the IHCL group, on 16th December 2023.
Delna Jasoomoney, Vice President – Travel Industry Sales, The Indian Hotels Company Limited (IHCL) during a webinar brought by PATA India Chapter ‘Jewels of India’, says that the Taj brand is the hallmark of iconic hospitality where the service is beyond compare. “It is people who make what we are today, and actually create the magic – The Tajness across all our hotels.”
She further adds, “We have also relaunched the Taj Mahal, New Delhi which is a completely renovated hotel, right from the public areas, guest rooms, restaurants, and is now again your address in New Delhi. We really want everyone to come and see the revamped and relaunched version of the Taj Mahal, New Delhi. Apart from having banquet facilities to host many corporate and business meetings, we were also the hosts to many G20 events across India.
Jasoomoney also emphasized an offbeat segment of IHCL which is the AMA stays and trails, launched three years ago that has the concept ‘Nature and You, Reconnected’. “We are the pioneers in bringing something that is fully backed by Taj service. These are fully serviced residences that come with associates looking after them 24*7, and chefs onboard. We sell these homestays as all-meals exclusive, one transaction-one key concept and with the essence of authentic local experiences. These properties can be addressed as the ‘first branded homestay’ in breathtaking locales. Now the properties are spread across Kerala, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra, Uttarakhand, Northeast, and Goa”, Jasoomoney added.
In addition, IHCL has signed 103 new hotels across brands like Taj (22), Seleqtions (19), Vivanta (22), and Ginger (40). The upcoming destinations are Lakshwadeep, Diu, Kevadia (Gujarat), Tawang (Arunachal Pradesh), Jaisalmer (Rajasthan), Tadoba (Maharashtra), Sirmaur (Himachal Pradesh), Thane (Navi Mumbai). IHCL has also come up with new itineraries and circuits. One can do an entire circuit or program covering all the grand palaces under Incredible Royal Escapes, or go for Divinity Trails, Follow the sun as you explore East, or Best of Kerala.
IHCL also launched its new campaign ‘She Remains the Taj’, launched earlier this year which is a holistic framework of women-centric initiatives for stakeholders including guests, employees, partners, and the community. This encompasses enhanced experiences for women travelers at its hotels across the globe. IHCL is also looking at raising women’s participation in its workforce to 25% by 2025 and support women-led businesses and partners.
Another ESG++ framework is PAATHYA that IHCL is embarked on, is a constant endeavor to walk a collaborative path with stakeholders. This unites IHCL’s many initiatives under one umbrella brand and takes a step ahead toward a better tomorrow. IHCL is also bringing forth a ‘Carecations’ program that enables one to embark on inspiring journeys specially designed to lead positive change for a better tomorrow. These itineraries are aimed to bring purpose and meaning to vacations and give it back to the community. The three pillars of Carecations are based on supporting communities, preserving heritage, and conserving nature.
