In the post-Covid tourism recovery, there were very few markets that recorded total recovery as well as growth in 2023 itself, when international tourism recovery had only reached about 84-85 percent. India’s outbound tourism market was among those precious few. The market expanded from its pre-Covid 26.9 million size to 27.2 million in 2023. It is currently growing in double-digits with all indications of surpassing 30 million international departures in 2024.
