IndiGo has launched its maiden flight from Dimapur to Kolkata recently. The same aircraft will operate to Delhi and connect Dimapur and Delhi (via Kolkata). With the launch of this sector, IndiGo announced Dimapur as its 33rd domestic and 38th overall destination. Chief Minister of Nagaland T. R. Zeliang was present at the commencement of the flight, along with Member Legislative Assembly, Imtiwapang and IndiGo President Aditya Ghosh. The inaugural flight from Dimapur took off with 116 passengers on board.
In its 9th year of operations these new flights to Dimapur are a reflection of IndiGo’s commitment to grow the North-East connectivity.
Speaking on the occasion, Ghosh, said, “The announcement of new flights to and from Dimapur is a progressive step. I on behalf of the IndiGo team thank Hon’ble Chief Minister of Nagaland Shri TR Zeliang for considering the suggestions made by IndiGo in order to launch the new flights and gracing us with his presence at the occasion. Adding Dimapur in our network is testimony of our commitment towards connectivity across the country’s corners bringing more and more people closer to their dreams and new opportunities. With the launch of these flights, IndiGo will also operate its 9th daily non-stop flight between Delhi & Kolkata.”
