Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport (CSIA) will house the entire domestic operations of Jet Airways at Terminal 2 with effect from March 15, 2016. Jet Airways’ migration will lead to the integration of its domestic and international flight operations in one terminal, resulting in a significantly enhanced, seamless and hassle-free transfer experience for passengers.
Jet Airways’ domestic operations at T2 will commence with the arrival of flight 9W 628 from Kolkata to Mumbai at 00:10 a.m. and the departure of flight 9W 484 from Mumbai to Kolkata at 02:25 a.m. The relocation from Terminal 1B is part of a phase-wise transition planned for Terminal 2. Air India and Vistara had already started domestic operations from Terminal 2 in the year 2015.
Terminal 2 has undergone AOR (Airport Operational Readiness) procedures over the past couple of weeks to enable the smooth transition of Jet Airways’ operations. It has also completed a comprehensive security sweep as well as the final stages of ORAT (Operational Readiness Activation and Transition). As part of the ORAT process, GVK Mumbai International Airport Private Limited (MIAL) conducted familiarisation processes for the ground handling staff, security and other employees to help them get acquainted with the protocols to be followed for Jet Airways. MIAL will also deploy its customer service team to assist and guide Jet Airways’ domestic passengers at Terminal 2.
Passengers can easily access Terminal 2 by means of an elevated corridor that bypasses some of the known traffic bottlenecks around the airport area, thus ensuring a smooth, quick ride to the airport. Jet Airways’ passengers can enter the Departure terminal from Gate No.7 at Level 4. They can check-in online or at the self-service kiosk located near the entrance. Passengers can also avail of the 41 dedicated check-in counters manned by Jet Airways staff between gates 6 and 7. Check-in counters for First and Première Guests for both domestic and international flights will be located at island ‘P’. Guests travelling in Economy Class on domestic flights can proceed to island ‘K’, while those travelling Economy on international flights can proceed to island ‘L’ for check-in. Island ‘M’ will have exclusive check-in counters for passengers holding JetPrivilege Platinum, Gold and Silver cards.
