KOREA TARGETS INDIAN MICE MARKET

Knowing that MICE travelers from India have become fastidious and want the best value for their money, Korea is offering something extraordinary. Its state-of-the-art MICE infrastructure and great ‘experiential’ advantage for incentives have already become popular in India, and many incentives have been held in Korea, last year. Korea recorded 86,700 Indian Visitor arrivals in 2010, registering a growth of 19 per cent growth in 2011 in terms of family travel, MICE and Special Interest Tours. These are many compelling factors which go in favour of MICE in Korea like its robust economy, easy accessibility, unique location and fascinating landscape, breathtaking attractions, vibrant culture, exotic cuisine, colourful festivals, modern convention venues, state-of-the-art facilities, exciting pre and post event programmes, teambuilding programmers, a secure environment, a variety of shopping options and a colourful nightlife, warmth of its people, and price competitiveness. So, now there are many reasons to meet in Korea! Korea has proven time and again its ability to successfully hold international meetings. According to the Union of International associations statistics released in 2008, Korea held 293 international meetings in 2008 and was ranked 12 worldwide in the number of international meetings held. It has an impressive infrastructure, as well as comprehensive resources to become a renowned MICE destination. Chanwon Exhibition Convention Center / ECCO, Gyeongsangnam-do. It boasts of versatile convention and exhibition facilities and other world-class catering for gala dinners and cocktail receptions. CECO is a prime venue for international convention and mega events in Korea. COEX, Seoul The world’s tenth largest convention centre has four exhibition halls and 51 meeting rooms. It offers space, service and all the modern technological features for large conventions as well as smaller events.
