Lufthansa announced the launch of services by its flagship Boeing 747-8 between Mumbai and Frankfurt. Mumbai becomes the third city in India to welcome the Queen of the Skies. Lufthansa currently operates the B747-8 to Delhi and Bengaluru.
Lufthansa is the global launch customer for the latest avatar of the legendary family of Jumbo Jets and its delivery to three Indian destinations, Delhi, Bengaluru and Mumbai, underlines the significance of the Indian market within Lufthansa network.
Wolfgang Will, Director South Asia, Lufthansa, said, “We are very pleased to announce the launch of B747-8 service to Mumbai. The introduction of the Queen of the Skies to Mumbai underlines our commitment to provide Indian customers with the best Lufthansa experience worldwide. The B747-8 sets new standards of comfort and efficiency. Our customers will be able to experience Lufthansa’s latest in-flight products, such as a sophisticated new Business Class seat featuring a 6.5 feet long full-flat bed with vastly improved sleeping comfort and greater privacy.”
This summer’s B747-8 introduction marks the completion of a vast overhaul of Lufthansa’s fleet to South Asia. The new aircraft on Lufthansa’s daily direct Mumbai – Frankfurt service replaces the last 747-400 to operate on routes to India.
