MoT Organises Global Tourism Investors’ Summit Roadshow in Mumbai

Ministry of Tourism, Government of India is organizing the 1st Global Tourism Investors’ Summit from 10th to 12th April 2023 at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi to bring together global business, thought leaders, and policymakers to understand and explore Tourism Business opportunities in India.

To draw domestic investors ahead of the 1st Global Tourism Investors’ Summit, the Ministry of Tourism, Government of India organized a Roadshow for the Western region today in Mumbai.

The roadshow event in Mumbai was attended by State/UT Governments officials from Goa, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, DNH & DD and had seen participation from 150 plus attendees from Tourism and Hospitality Industry.

The event focused on promoting India as an investment destination for travel, tourism, and hospitality by identifying State-Specific investment possibilities and discussing avenues to promote sustainable tourism.

The State Officials presented the recent major policy initiatives by the Tourism / Industries Department to improve the ease of doing business and a summary of unique fiscal and non-fiscal incentives in the tourism and hospitality sector along with recent investment-related success stories. The roadshow was organized and planned to raise awareness and knowledge about the 1st Global Tourism Investors’ Summit.

The event started with an opening address by Prashant Ranjan, Director, Ministry of Tourism, GOI, followed by the Keynote Address given by Saurabh Vijay, Principal Secretary – Tourism & Cultural Affairs, Government of Maharashtra. The officials of the state’s tourism department gave a detailed presentation on the major initiatives that have been recently undertaken.
