If someone was in Australia for only 24 hours, where would you send them? This was the question posed to Chris Hemsworth recently, and without a moment’s hesitation Chris cast his vote firmly in favour of Phillip Island.
The star of Thor and the Avengers series embraced his role as Tourism Australia’s global ambassador at an event held recently on the Gold Coast. His surprise appearance at the event was greeted with enthusiasm as attendees listened to Chris share his insights into ‘all things travel’ with host Catriona Rowntree. Their wide-ranging chat included topics like the challenges of a 24 hour flight with a two year old child, baking cakes and of course, heading to the beach.
Chris added, “I’ve been travelling a lot over the last few years and I’ve got to say every time I come back I appreciate it even more, and think how lucky I am to have grown up and live here. I’m excited to welcome the rest of the world to experience what I grew up with.”
When put on the spot by Catriona about where he would send someone who was in Australia for only 24 hours, Chris admitted his bias and nominated Phillip Island, a place where he had spent a lot of his youth.
