In a bid to strengthen its foothold in India, the Oman Tourism Board is now turning its focus to the southern cities Bengaluru and Chennai. The board has adopted a three pronged approach which includes tactical promotions, trade trainings and participations, and on- ground events. The tourism board is also finalising tactical promotions with regional tour operators from both the markets. Apart from this, they will be doing extensive focused trainings with tour operators from both the regions to increase awareness about the destination. A media campaign is also underway and will help build the brand in these two regions.
With a mission to showcases rich and diverse artistic creations from Oman, the region, and the world over, the Royal Opera House is all set with its new calendar of events and performances for the year 2012- 13. Among artists from across the globe performing at the Royal Opera House are Indian performers as well, including Pandit Jasraj, flautist Pt. Hariprasad Chaurasia, sitar star Niladri Kumar, ghatam player TH Vikku Vinayakram, kanjira expert Selva Ganesh, Shridhar Parthasarathy on the mridangam, and tabla players Ramkumar Mishra and Yogesh Samsi.
