Qatar Airways will officially move to its new home at Hamad International Airport (HIA), the world’s newest state-of-the art hub, on 27 May, 2014, when the world-class facility will become the new home for the national carrier of the State of Qatar. The move to HIA’s state-of-the-art facilities will offer passengers a new standard in international travel and help in supporting Qatar Airways as it continues to grow its operations through its continuous fleet and route expansion.
“We have been planning for this day for a long time and May 27 will be a momentous day for both the State of Qatar and Qatar Airways as we commence operations from Hamad International Airport. This airport will redefine the international traveller experience and set a new benchmark for airport excellence, and will enable Qatar Airways to offer our passengers an unrivalled experience,” said Akbar Al Baker, Chief Executive Officer, Qatar Airways.
