At the just concluded Elections, Rajiv Mehra was elected unopposed as the President of IATO. His term will be for another two years.
Along with Mehra, all Executive Committee members in his dream team have won with a comfortable majority . This includes Rajnish Kaistha as Senior Vice President; Ravi Gosain as Vice President; Sanjay Razdan, Honorary secretary; Sunil Mishra as Honorary Treasurer and Viney Tyagi as Honorary Joint Secretary. They will also have a tenure of two years each.
Speaking post election as President of IATO, Mehra said, “We are grateful to members for the faith reposed in me and my team. Tourism has just started recovering but inbound is still way below the 2019 level. Many of our members had suffered badly in the pandemic; it shall be our endeavor to help them to revive back. We also need to work closely with the Govt. as India has this year’s G 20 Presidency and there is keen thrust on showcasing different destinations so as to boost tourism. Besides, we would keep reaching out to the Govt. to give our sector Industry status and lower the overall taxation to make our country an attractive destination vis a vis the neighbouring countries”.
As per the constitution of IATO, an office bearer can hold the same executive position for a maximum of two terms – four years and after that a member is eligible to run again after a gap of one term.
