Abu Dhabi-based Rotana Hotel Management Corporation (Rotana), which recently announced its entry into the Indian market, plans to launch 20 hotels in the country over the next 10 years. Speaking with T3, Aman Aditya Sachdev, SVP –India, Rotana, revealed that the company is on the lookout for partners in India and are keen to work in all markets across the country. “2012 was a good year following our launch in India. We are, in fact, close to finalising our first deal here, details of which will be divulged later,” he said.
In addition to being in talks with developers for management contracts in India, Rotana is exploring places like Delhi NCR, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Kochi, Pune, Chennai, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Goa, Chandigarh, Surat and Lucknow, among others. According to Sachdev, while Rotana is open to operating anywhere in the country, they would love to work in the metros. “We usually manage properties of 250 keys and above. What we are looking out for more specifically are the right partners. We plan to bring three of our brands to India – Rotana, Centro and Arjaan,” he divulged.
