SpiceJet has announced new direct international flights to Bangkok from Chennai, flying six days a week. Flight services on this route will commence from December 10, 2015, and this will be SpiceJet’s second direct international flight from Chennai.
SpiceJet will be operating to Bangkok’s state-of-the-art Suvarnabhumi airport from Chennai, from where numerous onward domestic and international connections are available. The airline will deploy Boeing 737 Next Generation aircraft on this route.
Soraya Homchuen, director, Tourism Authority of Thailand – Mumbai Office said, “This is very exciting news for us especially since it will mean additional seats right when the peak season is in full momentum. We have seen increasing interest from the Chennai market and I expect that the added flight and promotional introductory fare will motivate more Chennaiites to travel to Thailand.”
The Tourism Authority of Thailand is expecting 1,050,000 travellers from India during 2015.
