Tourism is the mainstay of Himachal Pradesh’s economy: Sukhu

The state government has set a target to bring 5 crore tourists every year to the state and hence keeping this goal in mind, basic facilities are being increased

Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu on June 28 inspected water sports activities at Andrauli under Kutlehar Vidhan Sabha constituency of Una district.

Sukhu said “The State Government was laying special emphasis on development of tourism sector besides exploitation of hydro power and renewable energy sector to make Himachal Pradesh self-reliant.”

“Himachal Pradesh has immense tourism potential and the state government is making all out efforts to promote tourism. The area would be developed from tourism point of view so that the number of tourists could increase. Tourism is the mainstay of Himachal Pradesh’s economy and it also provides employment and self-employment opportunities to the youth”, Sukhu added.

He emphasized that the state government is promoting religious, adventure and eco-tourism in the state. The state government has set a target to bring 5 crore tourists every year to the state and hence keeping this goal in mind, basic facilities are being increased.
