Tourism Malaysia is organising their annual sales mission in India from 8-18 January, 2013. Led by Tourism Malaysia’s Director General, the delegation will comprise of individuals and groups from across tour and travel associates, and the service and hospitality sectors. With the aim of promoting Malaysia as Asia, like never before, the sales mission will visit Chennai (8 January), Mumbai (10 January), Kolkata (14 January) and Delhi (16 January).
The objective of the sales mission is to strengthen Malaysia’s standing as a dream travel destination and increase tourist arrivals from India. It will also provide Malaysia’s tourism industry players an opportunity to develop and strengthen co-operation with their Indian counterparts. In addition, the Director General will discuss and explore areas for collaboration to attract more Indian tourists to Malaysia.
Malaysia welcomed 693,056 Indian tourists in the year 2011. Tourist arrivals rose to 24,714,324 compared to 24,577,196 in 2010 while receipts climbed to RM 58.3 billion compared to RM 56.5 billion the previous year.
