Named ‘Inspired Holidays’, the introduction of new categories of holidays, provides an insider perspective on a specialised area of interest relating to different destinations across Europe such as World War I & II Battlefields, Flavours of Italy and English Country Gardens itineraries. Trafalgar has also reduced price of packages up to 13 per cent compared to 2012 exclusively for India and the Asian market. Moreover, the company is extending a further 10 per cent under the Early Payment scheme for customers booking before January 31, 2013.
To strengthen its positioning in India, Trafalgar also announced the appointment of Darshan Maheshwari as its Country Manager. Maheshwari will be responsible for building relations with the travel trade here, and will be available for product trainings for trade partners who request it.
Speaking on the sidelines of a product presentation in Mumbai recently, Maheshwari stated that his appointment was the company’s first step into the Indian market, and plans are afoot to open offices in the country, first in Bengaluru which is a strong source market for the company, and then New Delhi. The offices should be launched within the next one year, he added.
“We have had no regional presence in India so far and have always serviced this market through our UK and Singapore offices, and we felt it was important to change that. We will build relations with consumers through social media and PR activities, and with the trade through collaborative partnerships,” Nicholas Lim, Regional Director, Trafalgar said.
