In it’s continuous efforts to promote Flanders, the Indian office of Visit Flanders organised “Fabulous Flanders” educational seminars for the travel trade in cities of Pune, Hyderabad and Bengaluru. The main objective of these seminars was to update the travel trade community about the latest destination developments and product offers in Flanders and Brussels.
“As part of the endeavour to expand our reach, we wanted to tap these major cities that have immense potential for growth. Such seminars facilitate us to understand profiles of travellers thereby enabling us to provide information about destination Flanders that will cater specifically to their needs”, stated Sunil Puri, Managing Director, Visit Flanders, Tourism Office of Flanders & Brussels (Belgium) in India.
Belgium has extended its network of visa application centre services across nine Indian cities, including New Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Chandigarh, Kolkata, Chennai, Hyderabad, Ahmedabad and Pune.
Recently, a four-year remembrance project was set up by the Government of Flanders – the Great War Centenary 2014-2018. Over last few years, preparations have been on in Flanders & Brussels for the commemoration ceremonies that begin in 2014 and will continue over the next four years. A seminar focused on enhancing the awareness of the Indian Travel Trade on the Great War Centenary, was recently organised in New Delhi.
