India Convention Promotion Bureau (ICPB), the national apex body focused on promoting India as an attractive MICE destination, is organising the 14th edition of its flagship event ‘Conventions India Conclave’ (CIC) from December 7-9, 2023, at Mahatma Mandir Convention and Exhibition Centre, Gandhinagar, Gujarat. The Conclave will comprise of two key components: namely, Conference sessions and B2B meetings. The event aims to take forward the thrust to the MICE industry that G20 has given.
The forthcoming CIC is being supported by Gujarat Tourism as the Host State for. The Conclave will be inaugurated by Bhupendrabhai Patel, Hon’ble Chief Minister of Gujarat and the Guest of Honour, Mulubhai Bera will grace the occasion at the inaugural session.
The theme of the Conclave is Sustainable MICE: Empowering Events Towards A US $5 Trillion Economy. Speaking about the mega convention, Amaresh Tiwari, Vice Chairman at ICPB said, “This would be an exclusive opportunity for MICE exhibitors / suppliers of the industry to showcase their products and services to potential domestic and international buyers. The event is targeting about 150 buyers, domestic & international. This is an exclusive MICE focused event providing ample opportunities for networking, B2B meetings and participation in the knowledge sessions during the conclave.” Apart from the networking opportunities, the exhibitors will meet the buyers in the pre-scheduled meetings.
ICPB State Chapter Gujarat, will be launched at the event to aggressively promote Gujarat with the sub brand ‘Meet in Gujarat’ to position the state as a MICE destination. The Governing Board of the State Chapter will be chaired by Principal Secretary, Gujarat Tourism with members from the different segments of the MICE industry in the State like Venues, Hotels, DMC’s, PCO’s and service providers to include AV Agencies, Fabricators etc.
Eminent speakers like Rakesh Kumar Verma, Additional Secretary, Ministry of Tourism, Govt. of India, Hareet Shukla, Principal Secretary Tourism, Govt. of Gujarat, Dr. Saurabh Zamsingh Pardhi, Managing Director, Tourism Corporation of Gujarat, will address the participants and share their perspective on MICE industry. Senthil Gopinath, CEO, International Congress and Convention Association (ICCA) & Nakul Anand, Executive Director – ITC Limited are the Key Note speakers at the conclave.
The programme includes interesting sessions on India as a MICE destination with a special focus on Gujarat as an emerging MICE destination. B2B meetings between buyers and sellers will bring meeting planners from international & domestic markets to meet with suppliers of the Indian MICE industry. These meetings have potential to generate leads and result in materialisation of MICE business to India. ICPB is inviting the stakeholders of the industry to participate at the 14th CIC as exhibitors, hosted buyers, delegates, sponsors.
