Goa Tourism has actively participated in the recently concluded MITT Moscow 2023.
The Tourism Department has put an innovative pavilion showcasing the Goan culture, rich heritage, local festivals, landscape beauty, and tourism offerings such as different water sports, adventure activities, helicopter tourism, eco-tourism, hinterlands, and much more.
The pavilion was inaugurated by Gina Uika, Deputy Chief of Mission, Indian Embassy Moscow and in the presence of respected dignitaries from the Department of Goa Tourism.
On the first day of the event, Goa Tourism participated in several B2B meetings to strengthen their tie-up with the international market and explore possible business opportunities. Perfect Flight, Progress Tour Group Ltd, Helene Lloyd – Managing Director of TMI Consultancy, are few among them.
Each year Goa receives 80,000 – 90,000 tourists from Russia. Currently, 3,000 Russian tourists visit Goa every week, and the state sees a possibility of an increase in the number due to the availability of both budget-friendly and premium tourist destinations.
Since the end of last year, Goa has received one charter a day, in addition to four scheduled flights a week, from Russia.
The upcoming season in Goa is set to witness a surge in the development of spa services, wellness centers, and cultural programs that highlight the region’s traditional and spiritual practices. This trend towards holistic wellbeing and cultural immersion is indicative of a growing demand among travelers for experiences that nourish both the body and the mind.
