With both domestic and international travel picking up strongly, TravClan is seeing strong momentum in 2023 with a robust summer travel demand and this has led to higher revenues, says Chirag Agarwal, Co-Founder, TravClan.
According to him, the business has revenues grown 250% compared to last summer. To accelerate this growth story, TravClan is investing in technology, launching several new initiatives and upgrades in favor of travel partners. To facilitate the same, a large part of its focus has been put towards making it easier for travel agents to sell holidays. Earlier, travel agents needed 24-48 hours to get a quotation whereas now an entire holiday package within a few seconds.
Travel agents can now create and customize a complete itinerary plan for their customers in real-time and book. TravClan is also on the lookout to make it seamless for agents in sharing all trip-related details and reaching out to the team in incase of on-ground travel issues.
Alongside, expanding its physical presence in Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Chennai, Bangalore, Singapore and Dubai, TravClan aims to reach out to its community of travel agents in these areas. In the current state of operations, TravClan has on-ground presence in 18 Destinations as a DMC that include Thailand, Bali, Dubai, Singapore, Vietnam and Kerala, reveals Agarwal.
Talking about the new strategies planned with regard to marketing and promotional activities, Agarwal draws light on conducting regular events and meetups with the agents in partnership with tourism boards like Saudi Arabia, Dubai etc. At the same time, TravClan connects with resorts to share recent product updates, network, and understand ways to get better. TravClan also plans on weekly webinars and learning sessions targeted to familiarize the agents with the various destinations which they can book with TravClan and also educate them on the effective use of the portal for business.
TravClan is also providing free marketing tools such as white-labeled posters and videos which travel agents can use on social media and WhatsApp to generate leads, as well as free travel websites to assist them in having a digital presence and generating leads organically. Further, TravClan shares tips and techniques to travel agents to run their own social media ads.
Agarwal further expresses that travelers are preferring customized travel and comfort over affordability in the post-covid era. He says that travelers have started spending more on their travel and seek more comfort and options while traveling. Rather than just looking for affordable options, people are looking at more value out of their trips even if it means more cost at times. Therefore, travel agents stand at an advantage since they can provide personalized experiences with their expertise. Agarwal further mentions that rather than just going to famous places, travelers are going for options where they can interact with locals and see the culture of the places and choose offbeat locations over traditional touristy places.
Another trend that Agarwal has identified is that the average income of Indians has increased and so has their affinity to travel internationally, and the prices for flights have increased as well. According to him, travelers have realized the potential of traveling across a vast country like India. So, while TravClan is seeing an influx in annual international trips among travelers, frequent domestic trips have also become the norm.
