Indian tourist arrivals to Kazakhstan triple to 54,000 in 2023

Kazakhstan Tourism Board, along with seven representatives meet Mumbai travel trade to showcase the destination’s potential and offerings.

Kazakhstan, an emerging destination, aims to offer Indian travelers an unparalleled mix of adventure, culture, and natural beauty. From bustling cities like Almaty and Astana to stunning national parks and serene landscapes, Kazakhstan promises an enriching travel experience that caters to all interests.

According to the Border Service of the National Security Committee of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the number of visitors rose from 28,000 in 2022 to 78,000 in 2023. The number of Indian tourists using accommodation facilities in Kazakhstan is reported to have more than tripled by the end of 2023, rising from 19,000 in 2022 to 54,000 in 2023, showing an increase of 178.57 percent. This substantial increase is attributed to the availability of daily direct flights between the two countries, the introduction of a 14-day visa-free regime for Indian citizens in 2022, and the growing interest in Kazakhstan as a tourist destination.

On August 22, a Kazakh delegation led by the Kazakhstan Tourism Board, along with seven representatives from the country’s tourism industry, showcased Kazakhstan’s tourism potential and presented tour packages to Indian tour operators and members of the Travel Agents Association of India (TAAI) in Mumbai. The event in Mumbai was organized in collaboration with Salvia Promoters Pvt. Ltd.

This event was organized under the Ministry of Tourism and Sports of the Republic of Kazakhstan and supported by the Embassy of the Republic of Kazakhstan in India. Additionally, B2B meetings were held between Indian and Kazakh tour operators.
