NIMA declares 2025 as the “Year of MICE Tourism”

Network of Indian MICE Agents also announced June 21 as “World MICE Tourism Day” since this date marks the summer solstice in the Northern Hemisphere, symbolising the height of the travel and event season.

NIMA (Network of Indian MICE Agents) has been a true torch bearer of Indian MICE agents since last decade. The Ministry of Commerce & Industry is also making special efforts to promote India as a global MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions) destination.

To compliment these efforts, NIMA, while completing its 10 years of operations, has declared Year 2025 as the “Year of MICE Tourism” where year along events and activities would be planned across the country, to promote MICE Tourism, from Raipur to Ranchi, Madurai to Mohali and from Agra to Amritsar.

NIMA’s Gajesh Girdhar also announced June 21 as “World MICE Tourism Day” since this date marks the summer solstice in the Northern Hemisphere, symbolising the height of the travel and event season. It’s a time when many conferences, exhibitions, and business events take place globally, making it a fitting time to celebrate and recognize the significance of the MICE industry.

On the association’s networking 10 year celebration event in Delhi on August 28, Vikas Khanduri, Advisor of NIMA spoke about 2025 as the year of MICE tourism. Dr. Nitin Mittal spoke about NIMA’s initiatives in the field of education and training. Gurmeet Chhatwal elaborated on NIMA’s presence and importance of agents and presence in Tier 2 & Tier 3 cities. Jyoti Monga’s has been assigned to take NIMA with international chapters. Rajiv Chawla elaborated on taking NIMA’s presence at every state of India. Sanjay Sharma spoke about importance of corporate MICE business SLAs & SOPs for MICE operators.

The association NIMA was formed by Girdhar, who continues to lead the association, along with the others. Today, NIMA’s National Executive Committee comprises of active MICE operators and SMEs from metropolitan cities Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkata to tier II & III cities like Hyderabad, Bangalore, Bhubaneshwar and smaller cities like Yamuna Nagar and Tirupati, among others.

2. Skill Enhancement: Practical education sessions by various National & Regional Tourism Boards and Allied Services. Mentorship sessions on Digital marketing, social media presence etc.

3. Giving back to society: NIMA has tied up with various education institutions, across the country, to support them in curriculum design, training support, placement support and providing live projects.
