TOAI launches its Jammu & Kashmir Chapter

The newly formed committee is poised to initiate several strategic initiatives aimed at boosting tourism in the region

In a significant development for the tourism sector, the Tour Operators Association of India (TOAI) has officially launched the Jammu & Kashmir Chapter.

A 10-member committee was nominated during the first Kashmir Chapter General Body meeting on September 24, 2024, at the Hotel Royal Batoo, Srinagar.

This committee is expected to play a pivotal role in promoting and enhancing tourism in the region. The Committee Members nominated are Chairman: Nasir Wani, Vice Chairman: Sajad Ahmad Kralyari, Secretary General: Showkat Ahmad Khankashi, Treasurer: Sameer Ahmad, Joint General Secretary: Tariq Ahmad. The Executive Members are Irshad Ahmad – Lone Tours and Travels, Yawarzaib Tanki – Fortune Holidays, Burhan – Misger Tour and Travels, Bilu Ji – Bilu Ji Tours and Travels, and Irshad Ahmad – Hotel Royal Park.The election of the committee marks a significant step in uniting the region’s tour operators under a common platform, fostering collaboration, and addressing industry challenges collectively.

The event was attended by several distinguished personalities, including TOAI President Abdul Nazir from Kerala, National Advisory Board Chairman Zafar K. Ansari from Mumbai, National Advisor Peerzada Faiyaz Ahmed from Kashmir, and National Joint Secretary Shabir Ahmad Beigh.

Nasir Wani, JK Chapter Chairman emphasized the importance of collective efforts in promoting Jammu & Kashmir as a premier tourist destination and addressing the challenges faced by the industry.

The newly formed committee is poised to initiate several strategic initiatives aimed at boosting tourism in the region. They plan to work closely with both state and national tourism bodies to ensure the sustainable growth of the sector.

Speaking on the launch Peerzada Faiyaz Ahmad, National Advisor who moderated the event laid stress on maintaining discipline amongst the association. He thanked all the TOAI members who graced the occasion and came from far off areas.

President TOAI Abdul Nazir gave an insight into the association’s formation, the goals and the plans. He also mentioned that in just three years of the formation of the association the membership has grown to 250 plus members mainly because of the initiatives taken for the benefit of it’s members.

Speaking on the occasion Zaffar Ansari, Sb Chairman of the National Advisory Committee thanked the central committee for proposing state chapters. He also read out the names of the committee members and urged upon them the responsibility shouldered upon them.

This formation of the Jammu & Kashmir Chapter of TOAI is a promising development, signaling a new era of collaboration and growth for the tourism industry in the region.
