In response to growing public interest in the state’s eco-tourism destinations, preparations have accelerated to enhance the visitor experience.
The Uttar Pradesh government has announced that eco-tourism sites across the state will open for the new tourism season on November 6, nine days earlier than the traditional start date of November 15.
In response to growing public interest in the state’s eco-tourism destinations, preparations have accelerated to enhance the visitor experience. Among the offerings this year are walking trails, swings, and special arrangements for tourists across popular sites, including Dudhwa Tiger Reserve, Katerniaghat Wildlife Sanctuary, and Pilibhit Tiger Reserve.
In line with this new initiative, multiple wildlife reserves and eco-tourism destinations will open, including Dudhwa Tiger Reserve, Katerniaghat Wildlife Sanctuary, Pilibhit Tiger Reserve, Ranipur Tiger Reserve, Amangarh Tiger Reserve, Suhailwa Wildlife Sanctuary, Sohagibarwa Wildlife Sanctuary, Chandraprabha Wildlife Sanctuary, Kaimur Wildlife Sanctuary, Okhla Bird Sanctuary, Nawabganj Bird Sanctuary, and the newly developed Rapdi Eco-Tourism Center in Firozabad.
Tourism amenities, such as jeep safaris, elephant rides, and trained nature guides, have been meticulously arranged. In addition, guides at Dudhwa and other key reserves have been specially trained in storytelling, sharing detailed knowledge about reptiles, various wildlife, and tigers, creating an immersive and educational experience for tourists. The guides will also offer valuable insights to visitors from across the country and beyond.
The Firozabad’s Rapdi Eco-Tourism Center, located in the dense forest region along the Yamuna River, is a special highlight this season, featuring cottages, nature trails, a butterfly park, and motorboat rides. The opening of this center is expected to boost tourism and promote local development. Other popular wildlife sanctuaries, such as Katerniaghat, Pilibhit, Ranipur, and Amangarh Tiger Reserves, are also drawing significant interest among adventure seekers.
Upholding its commitment to conservation, the Eco-Tourism Board has issued guidelines to ban plastic and polythene across these eco-tourism sites, encouraging an eco-friendly visitor experience.
Additionally, a special package for students has been introduced at an affordable rate of INR 499, aiming to provide educational tours and insights into eco-tourism. Key eco-tourism sites, such as Dudhwa National Park and Katerniaghat Wildlife Sanctuary, have further enriched the visitor experience with trained nature guides.
Uttar Pradesh Minister for Tourism and Culture, Jaiveer Singh, expressed his enthusiasm, stating, “Eco-tourism has immense potential in Uttar Pradesh. Many of our sites are blessed with natural beauty, and the efforts of the Eco-Tourism Development Board are yielding positive results. We are committed to enhancing facilities based on visitor demand and have advanced the start of this tourism season by nine days. We invite tourists to enjoy our unique eco-tourism offerings, including jungle safaris, while ensuring they experience the natural heritage of Uttar Pradesh at its best.”
