ixigo shares data on airfares and booking trends for the wedding season in November-December 2024, offering insights into travel patterns, trends and price fluctuations during this peak travel period.
The top international destinations booked for travel in November 2024 include Dubai, with a year-on-year increase in flight bookings of 62%, followed by Bangkok, which saw a 112% rise. Bali experienced a significant jump of 148%, while Hanoi saw a 93% increase in bookings. Kuala Lumpur led with a 244% rise, and Singapore bookings grew by 63%. Abu Dhabi also saw a strong increase of 165%, while Muscat recorded a 124% rise in bookings. Kuwait had a 205% surge, and Colombo saw a more modest 46% increase. Phuket topped the list with an impressive 270% growth in flight bookings for travel in November and December 2024.
The top domestic destinations booked for travel in November 2024 include New Delhi, with a year-on-year increase in flight bookings of 55%, followed by Bengaluru, which saw an 84% rise. Mumbai experienced a 57% increase, while Hyderabad recorded a 74% growth in bookings. Kolkata had a 69% rise, and Chennai saw a 53% increase. Goa also saw a 57% surge, while Jaipur recorded a 56% rise in bookings. Srinagar experienced a 97% increase, and Vishakhapatnam had a 51% rise.
Pune saw an 89% jump, Ahmedabad recorded a 75% increase, and Lucknow had a 51% growth. Guwahati saw an 80% rise, Varanasi topped the list with a 265% surge, while Patna had a 70% increase. Ranchi also recorded a 69% rise, Bhubaneswar had a 57% increase, and Chandigarh saw a 70% growth.
Thiruvananthapuram had a 43% rise, Raipur recorded a 67% increase, Indore had a 54% growth, and Amritsar saw a 75% increase in flight bookings. Lastly, Gorakhpur experienced a 109% surge in bookings for travel in November and December 2024.

Travel to tier 2 and 3 cities in Nov & Dec have seen a significant rise, with Varanasi bookings up by an impressive 265% and Gorakhpur by 109%. Amritsar, Chandigarh and Patna have also recorded an increase of over 70% in flight bookings.”
With more Indians opting for international getaways, overseas destinations are top choices for honeymooners this season. Travel to Southeast Asia and the Middle East is booming, with hotspots like Singapore, Vietnam, Thailand, Dubai, and Kuala Lumpur seeing a 120-130% YoY rise in bookings for November and December.”
