MNTO hosts familiarisation trip for Indian tour operators

Supported by Gulf Air as the airline partner and L’Atelier Du Voyage as the destination management company partner, the trip brought together five tour operators from Mumbai and New Delhi each.

The Moroccan National Tourism Office (MNTO) recently hosted a luxury familiarisation trip for 10 Indian tour operators from November 10 to 18, 2024. The week-long journey explored Morocco’s iconic Imperial Cities—Casablanca, Rabat, Fez, and Marrakech—highlighting the destination’s rich cultural heritage, luxury offerings, and unique experiences.

Supported by Gulf Air as the airline partner and L’Atelier Du Voyage as the destination management company partner, the trip brought together five tour operators from Mumbai and New Delhi each. Specializing in luxury and leisure FIT as well as high-end groups, the participants discovered Morocco’s appeal as a premium travel destination tailored to the needs of Indian travelers.

The itinerary featured extensive hotel and riad inspections, showcasing Morocco’s finest accommodations. Participants engaged with the private sector in impactful stakeholder networking sessions in Casablanca and Marrakech thus fostering valuable collaborations and deeper insights into the destination.  Highlights of the trip included city tours, a hot air balloon experience, a boat ride on the canals of Bouregreg River, and an expedition to the Agafay Desert. Tour operators also explored Fez’s renowned pottery and tannery workshops, visited palaces, mosques, and museums, and strolled through vibrant medinas and bustling souks. Evenings came alive with vibrant nightlife, providing a glimpse into the destination’s contemporary cultural energy.

Jamal Kilito, Country Manager, MNTO – India, said, “Morocco is a land of diverse experiences where each moment tells a story. This FAM trip allowed key Indian tour operators to connect with the soul of Morocco, understanding its deep cultural roots while exploring the modern luxuries and unique adventures it offers. We are confident this initiative will inspire curated journeys that bring Indian travelers closer to the essence of Morocco. This FAM trip has also instilled confidence and sparked immense enthusiasm in our travel partners to promote Morocco as a premium destination for the Indian travelers.
