Meeting planned with banking sector in 2025 to address industry-specific issues: Tourism Min. at ITTA Convention

The inaugural session of ITTA Convention in Delhi was led by Convention Chairman K.S. Sawhney and ITTA President Satish Sehrawat, and witnessed the presence of distinguished dignitaries. A key highlight was the release of a manual dedicated to the industry.

The Indian Tourist Transporters Association (ITTA) successfully concluded its Annual Convention at The Grand Hotel, Vasant Kunj, in the presence of the Minister for Tourism and Culture, Gajendra Singh Shekhawat. The Minister’s arrival marked a pivotal moment for the event, underscoring the government’s commitment to addressing the concerns of the tourism and transport industry.

In his keynote address, Shekhawat lauded ITTA’s efforts in fostering growth and collaboration within the industry. Recognizing the sector’s significant contributions, he assured attendees that the government is keen to resolve pressing challenges and extend full support to ensure sustainable growth. He also announced plans for a dedicated meeting with the banking sector in 2025 to address industry-specific issues, including access to loans and financial challenges.

The Minister highlighted the importance of sustainable practices in the tourism sector, stating, “The way tourism prospects, tourists, and congestion are increasing in our country, sustainability is going to be a challenge. We should start with mobility. I request you to encourage your car drivers to become flag bearers of sustainability.”

At the end, Shekhawat reaffirmed the government’s unwavering support for ITTA and the broader tourism sector, emphasizing its pivotal role in India’s economic and cultural narrative.

The event commenced with a traditional lamp-lighting ceremony and a series of addresses from ITTA office bearers and notable guests. A key highlight was the release of a manual dedicated to the industry, symbolizing ITTA’s commitment to innovation and excellence.

Besides, there were theme presentations by renowned companies and panel discussions on topics ranged from insurance challenges and banking solutions to intergenerational mentorship and responsible travel trade practices.

The two-day event also included presentations by leading automotive companies and other sponsors, alongside impactful panel discussions featuring industry stalwarts. Noteworthy sessions included an open dialogue and a motivational talk, reflecting the spirit of unity and progress that ITTA stands for.

Notably, Indian Tourist Transporters Association is a robust organization with a membership base of over 350, of which more than 200 members are based in and around Delhi. The association represents operators recognized by the Ministry of Tourism and is committed to advancing the interests of the tourist transport sector across India.
