Amadeus and Travel Expert celebrate long-term partnership and historical IT migration

Leading technology partner for the global travel industry, Amadeus and Travel Expert, Hong Kong’s leading and most extensive retail travel network recently celebrated the successful implementation of the Amadeus suite of solutions across more than 60 retail sites in Hong Kong in just two weeks. The implementation is the largest ever for a global distribution system (GDS) in Hong Kong.

The two companies also celebrate a long-term partnership which will see Amadeus work with Travel Expert to streamline its operations as part of the company’s expansive business transformation programme.

Alfred Kam, Chief Operating Officer, Travel Expert commented on the partnership at an event in Hong Kong today, “Amadeus has been instrumental in our business transformation that will lead to improvements in work flow and business efficiencies. If  every second saved is contributed to customer service improvement, we will improve our bottom line while satisfying our customers and ensuring repeat business time and again.” Travel Expert will use several Amadeus solutions to form part of its unique Point-of-Sale system.

Quick and easy air fare search for customers – with the help of Amadeus All Fares, Travel Expert can easily find air fares according to the specific needs of customers and access multiple sources to ensure the best options. Day-to-day processes are highly automated which means more time for Travel Expert to provide value added services to customers.

Quality control for Travel Expert customer service – Amadeus Quality Control allows Travel Expert to set and implement rules on any element of the booking process which enables staff in every location to offer consistent service quality at the highest level throughout the entire Travel Expert retail network.

In case of an emergency, Amadeus OneClick helps Travel Expert quickly and easily obtains traveller information from a central, online portal. Travel Expert can communicate with customers while they are travelling instantly via the portal to deliver important information.

In addition to providing cutting edge technology, Amadeus has also initiated the “Continuous Innovation Committee” to provide Travel Expert with on-going counsel on the latest developments in technology and industry best practice to help the company achieves its business goals.
