Ark Travels conferred with most number of CLIA-accredited personnel in 2019

Ark Travels has registered most number of accredited personnel in 2019 in India by Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA). 11 of the travel personnel from Ark Travels have been conferred with the accreditation from CLIA, after completing the required training, making the Indian travel agency with the highest number of CLIA-accredited agents by end December 2019.

The CLIA Membership raises the company’s professional credibility and reputation within the leisure travel industry and is designed to help us navigate the cruise industry, attract more clients and increase our earnings.

Kishan Biyani, Managing Director, Ark Travels said, “The CLIA Travel Agency Membership is more than an investment in our agency’s success. The industry-leading training and certification program designed by CLIA is in line to help cruise specialist in our organisation in understanding latest cruise trends, opportunities and to upgrade knowledge and career to the next level.”

As per CLIA’s Cruise Industry Outlook 2020, in total 278 ships are expected to cruise the ocean and 19 new big ships will debut by end of the year. It is also projected that 32 million passengers will take cruise vacations worldwide, of which approximate four million pax will choose Asian ports to go on cruise. Beside this, a report based on planned itineraries also suggested about 400,000 Indian passengers going on cruise-holiday by end 2020.

Cruise lines are responding to a shift in passenger demographics by offering studio cabins, single-friendly activities, eliminating single supplements and solo-lounges. Many cruise lines offer bite-sized cruises over a three-to-five-day period offering incredible itineraries and travel to exciting destinations.

Joel Katz, Australasia & Asia Managing Director, CLIA said, “When booking a cruise, consumers would want expert advice from a travel professional with in-depth knowledge of cruise holidays. CLIA-accredited agents have met the mandatory training requirements set out by CLIA, the official representing body of the cruise industry.  We are delighted that ARK Travels are CLIA’s agency members and find value in the ongoing professional development of their staff across all aspect of cruise retail.”
