Ahead of its debut in India this year, Banyan Tree Hotels and Resorts, along with Angsana Hotels and Resorts, recently hosted their annual road show in Mumbai. The event witnessed an active participation from several trade partners, travel consultants and sales representatives of major tour operators in the city. Runjuan Tongrut Director, Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) was also present with her team at the road show.
Senior representatives from eight of Banyan Tree Group properties including flagship property Banyan Tree Phuket, Banyan Tree Samui, Thailand, Banyan Tree Bintan, Angsana Bintan and Banyan Tree Ungasan in Bali, Indonesia, Banyan Tree Macau, Banyan Tree Vabbinfaru, Banyan Tree Madivaru, Angsana Ihuru and Angsana Velavaru in the Maldives, Angsana Balaclava Mauritius and the upcoming Banyan Tree property in Kerala participated in the event. The road show was conducted primarily to develop and strengthen relations with key travel partners across India. Aimed at showcasing USPs of each property, the event adopted a three-fold strategy of educating their tour partners, enhancing awareness of Banyan Tree as a brand and instigating the India market with customised offerings.
Highlighting the tremendous growth opportunities of the Indian market, Audrey Chung, Senior Assistant Vice President – Global Marketing Network, Banyan Tree Hotels and Resorts stated, “India has witnessed stupendous growth in the past decade and the evolved hospitality scenario provides a conducive base for several new businesses to establish and grow. Last year we set up our Regional Marketing office in India to further expand our market share and work extensively in this region.” From 2011 to 2012, Banyan Tree doubled its market share and grew by over 60 per cent and Angsana properties witnessed a four-fold increase in its revenue share.

During the course of the road show, BT conducted a Q&A session to enable event managers and trade partners to gather more in-depth and comprehensive understanding of the various Banyan Tree Hotels and Resorts and Angsana Hotels and Resorts present around the world.
